While "Hope" is one of the themes of Advent, seeing and hearing so many of our young people tell the Christmas story this past weekend in worship (at all 3 services) gave an extra meaning to the word "hope". To know that God is at work among all of us, including the youngest among us ("Baby Jesus" this year at the 11am service was 5 day old Alivia Elsebough...yes, 5 DAY old!) :-) gives an added dimension to what hope means.
Hope is God's story being lived out and passed along from generation to generation. Hope is what we saw alive this past week in our children. (To see the 11am service, and maybe get a glimpse of our 5 day old "baby Jesus", click here.) Hope is knowing God doesn't leave us alone in the darkness but comes to us with his Life giving Light.
So, come join us as Advent comes to a close this coming weekend, and as we gather at the manger on Christmas Eve at 6 and 9pm (special music for the Holy Night at 8:30) and again Christmas day at 11am followed by our annual "Home Alone Christmas Dinner" at Noon on Christmas Day. These are some of the places Christ meets us and the story continues to unfold.
Jesus is coming! Hope is alive among us!
See you in church! Pastor Jack +
