You Are What You Eat!

It often shows!  Take the Flamingo and Roseate Spoonbill for example.  Their beautiful pink feathers reflect what they eat...shrimp and other food that turn their feathers that beautiful coral/pink color.

In our Scripture reading yesterday from Ephesians we heard a list of what people would look like who feed on the Bread of Life.  They speak the truth; are angry but don't sin or let the sun go down on their anger; work honestly so as to have something to share; let no evil talk come out of their mouth, but only what is useful for building up; put away bitterness, wrath, anger and wrangling; are kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another as God in Christ has forgiven them; and the list goes on.  All of these things and more are seen in a person who regularly eats God's Bread of Life!

Are you what you eat?  If the list of things above are of short supply in your life that doesn't mean you just have to try harder.  What it does mean though is that maybe it's time to look at what you've been "eating", then come to the table again, and make God's Bread of Life a part of your regular diet.  That makes all the difference in the world, both for you and for those around you.  You ARE what you eat!

The next 2 Sundays are the final 2 of our 5 "Bread" Sundays.  The table will again be ready, and there's a place at it for you.   Pastor Shelly will be back this coming weekend, and I will be at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Orlando with all 4 of our kids from near and far for the baptism of our newest grandchild, baby Jack Canteenwalla!   We will certainly be feasting together there!   But wherever you are, God's table is nearby.  Be a regular there.  There is always a place at it for you.

See you in church!    Pastor Jack Diehl +
