What a treat that was yesterday afternoon, as we had a visit from those two talented and engaging Russian musicians!  It was amazing, and everyone was smiling.  Many thanks to Mary Pautz Klotsche and the Richard  R Pautz Lifelong Learning Foundation for bringing such a world class event to Our Savior, and making it accessible to everyone.  It was wonderful music, seeing old and new friends, and Haiti Partners benefited to the tune of about $3000!   So, many many thanks to all for making that happen.

Want to make good on your New Year's resolutions? A new Run for God group is starting up Tuesday, Jan. 22nd at 6:00pm. Meeting at Charles Park. The group is for all interested in growing spiritually and physically. Run for God is a 3 month program that meets weekly for devotions and a run/walk together with each person working toward a fitness goal by the end of the 3 months. If you are interested please reply to this email or call Jim Tardi (772-321-9820) for more details and directions to Charles Park.

Want to get more involved in things here at OSLC and get to meet a lot of really nice people? One of the easiest ways is to volunteer as an usher. If you would like to try this, there will be an usher training this Sunday (1/20) after the 11am worship service led by Karen Reed. A short time to go over the basics of ushering and show you how you can schedule yourself with our online scheduling. Meet in the sanctuary after the 11am worship service.

Also, this coming Sunday, Jan. 20, at 3:30pm at St. Augustine Episcopal Church at 475 43rd Ave., there will be an ecumenical service of prayer for Christian Unity.  Members of a number of congregations from around the county will be involved, including staff and choir members from Our Savior.  Hope to see you there.

If you like Handbells, our handbell choir will be participating in a handbell workshop this Friday and Saturday at the Community Church, with handbell choirs from all around the state.  Following the workshop there will be a free handbell concert from 4-5pm at the Community Church featuring the Atlantic Ringers and the combined handbell choirs from the workshop.  Doesn't that sound pretty cool!?

Looking ahead to Sunday Jan. 27, we will have our annual congregational meeting at 9:45am in the sanctuary.  This is an opportunity to look at the year past, celebrate what's going on at Our Savior, vote on a budget for 2013 and more.  Please plan on joining us for this once a year gathering.

This coming Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 6pm our Wednesday evening supper will be a potluck! Bring what you can to share.  But if you live alone and can't bring something, just bring yourself.  There will be an offering jar to help cover costs.

Finally, in light of this past Sunday's worship, "The Baptism of our Lord", remember your own Baptism.  That wasn't meant to be just a one time event, done and forgotten.  Each day remember that you were Baptized.  God claimed you and called you his own.  God gave you the Holy Spirit.  God said, and continues to say (as we heard in Isaiah 43:4...the only time these words are spoken by God in the Bible)  "I love you."   And as a people who have heard that Life-giving, Life-affirming Word, we get to share that Word, in our words and actions, with a world so desperate to hear such a Word.

Have a blessed week.    See you in church.    Pastor Jack Diehl +    www.oursaviorelca.com
