Ahh...this really is a wonderful season of the year, as we celebrate Easter for 7 weeks!  Well, really, every Sunday, year round is a "mini-Easter"...which is why our Sabbath is on Sunday, but for these several weeks we especially hear the post Resurrection stories, and how that story continues to unfold around and through us.

While the Easter season continues for several weeks, the Easter lilies which decorated our worship space these past 2 weeks, are now ready to find a new home.  If you'd like to pick up a lily any time this week, come on by.  They are yours for the taking as long as they last.

Along with celebrating  the Resurrection this season, we continue to say "Good bye" to several of our seasonal folks.  It's been great having you a part of our congregation and we wish you all safe travels and a good summer....til we meet again next Fall or Winter.   This email is a really nice way for us to stay connected as we disperse to the north and other parts of the world (including Finland and Austria to mention a couple places our folks go!)

As a kind of "Grand Finale" to a great "Run for God" group, which began last Fall, a number of our "Run for God" runners will be meeting this Saturday morning, April 13 at South Beach for a "Help Kids Kick Cancer, Maya Matters" 5K run/walk.  Race starts at 7:30am, registration starts at 6:30am, or you can register at the Runner's Depot (Miracle Mile, next to Deep Six Dive Store).  Cost, $25 in advance, $30 on race day.   The "Run for God" group will resume in the Fall.

Below is a message about ushering, from our usher coordinator, Karen Reed. What a neat, high tech way to sign up to usher!  Please take a look and if you can serve in this way, it would be much appreciated.

Oh yeah, one other thing:  We still see, and play with, Mary the squirrel every day. She lives in the trees in our yard, but comes down usually in the morning and/or the evening to play and have her back rubbed, and mostly eat.  We bring out walnuts, sunflower seeds, etc.  Her little squirrel buddies usually come around at the same time, and often try to chase her away so they can get to the food.  So, Mary often gets one of the nuts and sits on my shoulder to eat, where she won't be bothered by the others.  Such a cute little one of God's creatures.  Usually by this time, the squirrels we've released have become pretty much recycled into the wild, but this one knows that she has it made with us and doesn't seem to be going anywhere yet!  :-)

USHERS NEEDED!

Good morning all!  I hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather! Spring is in the air and Summer is on it's way! Only a few more months and we will be down to one service on Sunday mornings. In the meantime we still need your help at the 11am service. If you can sign up for April or May, your service is always appreciated!  - Thanks Karen Reed
