Always being made new.  That's the business God is about: in our lives, in the church, in the world, making us new.  To hear my sermon yesterday on that topic, with a real, true fish story at the end, click here.

As this week unfolds, some new things will be happening here at Our Savior.

For one, watch for our upcoming "Fall Newsletter" which will come first on-line and by e-mail later this week, but which will also be available in

hard copy in the narthex or church office, or in the mail if requested.

On Wednesday of this week, our Wednesday suppers resume at 6pm!  This week, chicken parmesan and pasta.  A free will offering will be received to help cover the cost. All are welcome. You can sign up to help and view the menus by clicking here.

Following the meal, a "New Member Gathering" will begin at 7pm in the "Quiet Room" off of the narthex. This is the first of a 3 meeting series for anyone interested in knowing more about Our Savior.  The following 2 gatherings will be Sunday at 9:45 am and next Wednesday, Oct. 9, again following our Wednesday night suppers.

"Run for God"  was a popular Bible Study/Running/Walking group that met last year.  Some have been asking when the next one will begin! So, looking ahead, the next "Run for God" group will meet again beginning in the new year, sometime in early January.  So, keep posted and let Pastor Shelly know of your interest.

Finally, looking ahead to next Sunday, there will be an "Usher Sign Up Table" in the lobby, near the "Tree of Life".  Please stop by, look at the schedule, and see when you can serve in this really helpful and important way. You can also sign up any time using our website, just click here

As this week unfolds, what is it in your life that God may be at work to make new?

See you in church!    Pastor Jack Diehl +  www.oursaviorelca.com

The gospel on this coming Sunday speaks of how surprising it would be if a master served his slaves their evening meal. Yet this is exactly what happens each Sunday when Christ serves us at his table of mercy. Come to worship, and strengthen your faith in the power of this surprising food.
